3rd Generation What suspension part went in this hole?

Just bought a 92 Camry LE in fairly decent condition. The suspension has some knocks, squeeks, and loose noises. I see these empty bolt holes on each side of the control arms. I'm guessing this had something to do with the front swaybar... or I should say the lack of one.

First question- why would someone remove this.

Second question - How dangerous is it to drive the car like this?

Third question - What do I need to fix this?

hmm

Who knows why someone removed this. Could be ignorance. Could have been broken. I guess it could be dangerous if you took the wrong corner at the wrong speed. You need the swaybar itself, the links, and if the mounts and bushings are gone u need those too. I would fix them because the stock Camry handling is close to garbage even with this in place. If you have to buy a new one go for an aftermarket bar like TRD.

No idea why someone would remove the sway bar.

Your car will not handle as well and will have more body roll. Probably will have more over steer

You need:
-sway bar
-sway bar bushings
-sway bar mounts
-sway bar linkages

Any suggestions on where to get a decent deal on a swaybar? I haven't really had much luck locating a source for an OEM one on the Internet.

The guy who sold me the car was an idiot... but I got a great deal on a 92 with 98,000 mi. Is it necessary to remove any steering components to get the new bar up in there?

HA! Drifto Magnifico must have owned that car! He must have wanted to drift to the mall.

On a serious note... boneyard! A good salvage company should be ably to round up a sway bar and you can get all of the attaching hardware and links (which are obviously not there)to go with it. Having all of the parts should make putting the puzzle back together easier.

+1 on the salvage yard. If the salvage yard turns out to be a dead end, try the for sale section here on TN. I believe there is a gen3 being parted out. You may be able to get what you need, and then some.

Check it out...
