Don't drive it if the timing belt isn't installed correctly. Find another way to school and fix it tomorrow if you have to but don't drive it.

It doesn't take very long to re-time it, just need to take the top timing cover off. The rest of the engine can stay together, even the drive belts. Four or Six?

Take the dog bone mount and support off the engine; next comes off the timing cover. Check the cam gear to locate the little alignment hole, as long as it is point up, you are fine. Line-up the crank pulley to 0 degree, loosen up the tensioner bearing bolt, pull it back and snuck the tensioner back down. Align the cam gear with the cam cap slot, than make sure all the slack of the t/belt is on the tensioner side. Give the tensioner an additional tuck, tighten it down. Roatate the engine over a couple of turns and recheck the timing and t/belt tension. With practice, you should be able to have that done in 20 minutes with proper hand tools. Of course, you still have to put everything back on.

Oh, and you don't even have to lay down on the ground or jack the car up.

N.E.O.

It is just the upper timing cover that needs to come off, I guess I didn't specify.

If it's leaking at the oil pump why do you assume you need a new pump? There is an o-ring on the pump cover and a shaft seal on the pump drive shaft. Unless you have measured the gear wear you don't need a new pump to repair a leak. Be sure to smear assembly grease on the pump gears on re-assembly as they will be dry on start up.

What exactly have you done to fix the oil leak? The oil pump have a shaft seal and an o-ring type gasket that can be replace without replacing the pump; probably about $30-35 in parts. However, you do need to have the timing belt off to do that.

Well, I guess I was a little too late in posting this, someone had already beat me to it.

What sensor are they talking about?
