If i remember correctly, you have the seats, the third brake light, and the cover with the grills to take out. You should see the speakers and they should be held in by three bolts or screws. They should also have a small connector you can see in the trunk for the signal. Good luck.

if you pull up on the rear seat, it suold come out. There should be three locking pins that release when you pull up. Once you get those out, it will expose two large bolts holding the side parts of the rear seat. Unblot those, and you should have the rear seats out. Next I think there are two screws holding the cover with the grills on. Take those two screws out, and you should be able to pull the cover out. That will expose the speakers.

as previous post said.

you first have to take the third break light out.
which you just push the two little nuts from the trunck and then just pull it out

and then

you have to fold down both seat.

you will see a black plastic thingy LOL
you will see 4 plastic bolts, unscrew them.
but then you can't take that black thingy out, cause there is three other bolts on top under the speaker cover piece.
you could open your trunck and look around and you will see three bolts that is the same as the four that you've unscrewed, those bolts should be plastic and black in color.

after that you should be able to take the black thiny out.

after that you have to take the speaker cover piece out, which is a Bit*h to do.
theres two little plastic nuts around the middle of that cover piece.
you simply just aplly some force and pull those two nuts out.
after that, there are THREE hooks that the cover piece hook on to the trunck.
you can see it from the trunck. three white plastic hook.
you have to use some kind of tools i.e. a stick.
to apply force to push those three hook out.
be careful of how to apply the force because you may break the hook (cause i broke mine)
once those three hook come out you should be able to take the whole speaker cover piece out.

and then you will see some plastic foam kind of stuff, just pull it out and you will see the two stock speakers.
with Three Bolts. after unscrew the three bolts, you have to use some kind of tools like a ID card or credit card kind of stuff, cause those stock speakers are GLUE on to the hole.

if you are installing new speakers, you might need to drill some new holes.

i guess that all you need to know.
sorry for this long ass mesage.
but i really hope this help and sorry for my bed ENGLISH LOL
hope it works for you.

Just so you know, next time you should try to do a search before posting.

I have a 2000 Camry and have done a rear speaker install. If you have done everything Neon has said, then all that should be left is to slide the rear deck towards you. I also removed the two seat pieces beneath the seat belts which might help. You can remove the two plastic trim panels if you are still having problems.

you don't have to take the side panels down.
once you pop the three hooks and the two nuts near the middle is pop up for the speaker cover piece.

you would have to apply some force to pull the piece towards you. By doing that you will BEND that rare deck a little bit, but you should be able to take it out from there.

but if you still could not pull it out, you could try to take the side panel down ^_^

Did you ever succeed in getting your rear deck out? I'm trying to get mine out. Did you end up removing the side plastic panels and if so, how did you do it? I have a '99 and it looks like I need to take those plastic side panels out because they're holding the deck in. Any ideas?
Thanks very much.

You don't need to remove the plastic trim but you can if you want to. I believe they are just held in place by friction clips so just pull to remove.

no dice. believe me, I've freed the rear deck from all fasteners, including the two friction clips and also four white hooks at the rear (through the trunk). the problem here is that I can't push a solid object (the deck) through another solid object (the side plastic panels at each end of the deck). the deck curls under the side panels just enough so that no amount of force will get it out. I've even tried bending it at the middle, willing to concede some damage to the deck to get it out, but it just bows up against the rear window without coming loose from the side panels, even if I exert as much force as I can while kneeling on my folded down seats. maybe there's something non-standard about my Camry. I bought it used but everything looks original and clean. doesn't seem like there's any other info in the forum that would suggest I should be having this problem, but I've tried every which way and it's not coming out unless I saw it in half or remove the side panels. thanks for your help!
