urd used to carry a black box that could bypass the speed limiter, but they stopped selling it awhile ago

maybe the PR cars are different?

but more than likely, your speedo is just really off at that speed. the only way to really tell (unless our cars had digital speeods) is via a gps. I know that my speedo is off 5kph at aroung 130-140kph, so it being off more so beyond that wouldn't be a big surprise.

another thing that's off by a bunch as well is your tach...especially when it's moving fast...it can be a good 500-600rpms off- either too slow or too fast depending on the situation

I believe there is a wire which can be removed from the ECU but it's my understanding you will have to live with the check light while disconnected. I've considered cutting and splicing a switch in the wire should I need it disabled but I've never done it. (Really haven't the need.)

Hehe can't get my Gen 3 5SFE/auto much above 120. Kids don't try this at home. My car is mechanically perfect and running on nearly new Bridgestone Potenza rubber.

I don't know about that... it takes about 10-11 seconds from 0-60mph and add another 50mph from 60 should take longer than 10 seconds so add it up it's more than 22 seconds. You must be doing this run on a downhill for sure lol...

I know mine is out because I reached and passed 135mph, I had a pic of it that I took with my phone. But it took a long time to reach it, once you go past 90mph its really slow.

my acceration past 105 sucks, but my cut off is about 117mph, and you don't need a full standalone, just you need a piggy back that will control your injectors, If I'm not mistaken we have a fuel cut off, so what needs to be done is to have a piggy back or standalone control the injectors and when it reaches that cut off point have the piggy tell it otherwise.

oh, sorry, I was referring to Cmry Racing because he's in Puerto Rico (PR)

But what I commented on still stands for pretty much everybody who says that they've gone faster on their gen4s- your speedo is off.

In regards to cutting the wire most likely the speed sensor...your car will go into limp mode and then you won't even have the power to go beyond the speed limiter anymore due to air resistance

megamac brings up a good point though- depending on how toyota designed the actual fuel cut-off, and presuming that it really is JUST fuel cut off and nothing else, a piggy back unit such as an emanage ultimate would probably be able to get past the fuel limiter....not too sure about less functional piggybacks such as the emanage blue though, since they have problems fighting our ecus even during regular driving.

an SAFC will not work for sure, as all it does is alter the MAF settings.

I think gabe tried using an apexi revspeed meter in the past...not sure if he actually ended up using it, or if it worked at all. I'm not too familiar with how the revspeed meter works. to the best of my knowledge, the speed limiter cut that is programmable on the RSM can only set a NEW speed limiter, not remove a pre-programmed one on the ecu.

Somebody should try it with the emanage ultimate and let us know how it goes
