Power Window Issue - 1996

I have a 1996 Camry. The driver's window motor is apparently going out. I can roll down but going up sometimes stops short. If I wait a minute it will go up about an inch. I have to do this until it gets all the way up.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, was the motor the issue?

If it is the motor going bad, can I swap the motor from the back door and place it in the front door? Or is each motor different?

I figure the back door is rarely used so less inconvenient.

Thanks for any feedback.

i dont think you can interchange the window regulator for the windows.. (front to back, left to right)

i would just buy a new replacement... not hard to change

ebay quick search :

i bought one from ebay about 5 years ago and it still works better than my other windows

^^ I'm with abew. Sounds like you have a motor dying. They can be found inexpensively and replacement is not a bad job for anybody with a little mechanical aptitude.
