3rd Generation Its the little things that piss you off the most! Help Please!

Ok so I have a 92 DLX V6 Camry with 146,000mi. on it.

Two Problems:

1. So the other week I noticed this piece of metal hanging underneath the front end of my car. I was able to bend it back under, but once I got on the highway I heard it fly off. So, I grabbed it and took pics of it to see if anybody knows what it is, where it belongs, and if I need to get something to cover where ever it went to and how I would go about doing that.

Here are pics of the "piece"

Here is the general area of where I originally saw it hanging down *not a true camry undercarriage by the way, duh*

2. A couple weeks ago it rained pretty damn hard here in MD. Consequently my front passenger side floorboard flooded a bit. Like if I were to push on the carpet with my hand it would make a "squish" noise...just to let you know how much water came in. It seemed to be coming in through where the arrow is. My friend had something similiar happen to him and his Passat. He said his vents on the outside, where the windshield and hood meet, got clogged with debris (and apparently that "drain" goes under the hood or something and that was clogged too) and the water didn't get drained properly and thus entered the vehicle.

Any suggestions as to either of my problems would be greatly appreciated!

Love
Anthony

1, looks like a piece of a heat shield from your exhaust.

2, sorry, I don't know.

Yes thats the word I was looking for but I couldn't remember what it was. Do you need to like find another piece of metal and weld it back on or something??? How would you fix that?

Can you take a photo that includes more detail of car? Can not tell just what area am looking at.

The metal part appears to be a shield that goes either on the front or back of the muffler or CAT. The wide area attaches to the part, the small to the exhaust pipe. Look on the front or back of the muffler and CAT to determine if there are signs something was welded it.

Just don't park it in high weeds or grass and you should be fine. (I've been told that's its main purpose- to keep the exhaust from starting a grass fire.)

The flooded part of my car was in the passenger floorboard and came from the dash area. The pic was taken by me kneeling down outside the car and taking a pic of the underside of the dash area. Does that help?

How can I clean my "vent" system? Is it easy or hard???
