3rd Generation Does A/C run for Front Defroster 94 Camry V6XLE

The A/C button is not depressed and the light is not on but I was curious if I was running the front defroster is my A/C compressor running at the same time.

I normally run it with the AC on anyway cause it works more efficiently for the temperature settings.

Also I never use the air recirculator button also. Also using fresh air. I see cars with foggy windows and know that that is the culprit and I laugh. Especially in the winter.

No, the A/C has to be manually engaged in the defrost mode.

I didn't know that using recirculated air fogs up the windows faster... Here in Hawaii the outside air is really humid, esp. after it rains, so I run the defroster with A/C on, recirculate on, and the temp. knob near the middle.

yeah, in the gen3's the a/c doesn't come on with the defrost...I like that we can control it...

on the gen4s and up, they both come on at the same time and gets annoying if you ask me

yup...not too hard to do...it's under your air filter box

just remember to use some pbblaster on both the top and bottom nuts for a couple of days before you tackle it and you'll be fine. use locking pliers for the bottom ones (or you can use fuel line wrenches, but I'd rather use the locking pliers so that you know you won't strip things) and hit up the top banjo bolt with an impact gun- simple as pie

toyota fuel filters are good of course...but expensive...

I went with motomaster (Canadian Tire brand) and it works just fine even after I went boost...so, I don't think that it makes much difference
