3rd Generation Need some patient assistance for a dumb question...

Still having probs with my Spectre filter. The thing is, when I removed my original filter housing the AIT sensor which is plugged in opposite side of the battery was not plugged into the housing and therefore I just didn't take notice of it. I can't seem to find this end that plugs in ther to install into my Spectre intake pipe. Could someone tell me how to locate the other end of this sensor or even where its attached? A pic would be awesome, but I know that would be troublesome of me to ask.

Thanks guys for helping a rookie wrencher learn a thing or two.

what problems are you having exactly?

usually, even if the IAT sensor isnt plugged in then your car wont give you much trouble because as long as the harness-end is plugged in then its reading SOME temperature, and the computer doesnt know if a random engine bay temp is the same as your air temps.....

Well, truth be told I'm not having any problems with the car, except for a slight whirring noise that sounds like an air leak but it whirrs down when the engine is cut off. It's weird, it kinda gets less after the car has been running for a while, but it's still slightly audible.

All the airways are tight and it doesn't seem to cause any functional problems, so I guess it'll just be a live-with noise.

that hissing is normal when you install an open-style filter such as on an SRI or CAI .... surprised nobody told you that yet, its not an air leak it comes from the filter itself (mine does it, and so does everyone elses)

it should go away once the cars been running for a bit, thats how you know its not a vacuum leak or anything ... so dont worry

and as far as the IAT sensor, as long as you dont have problems with the car i wouldnt worry about it - but it should be dangling somewhere off the right of the engine bay along the inner fender
