OK so I did the mod today and did take alot of vids! but sadly they wouldnt edit together for some reason (dont ask why ) but its all on and i put on the best vids to give yall some help!

This is a small DIY of how and what to hook up!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvFDp10PMP8

This is the finished product!!! Parking light works like normal but blinks with blinker and then blinks simultaneously when parkin lights are on!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIfPmkDwMW4

And while i had some spare time even tho it was dark i also did the rear lights and wired the rear blinkers to the rear sidemarkers so heres a vid of the finished product of those. sorry for it bein hard to see but here ya go!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XLM8T3WOCI

I hope this helps and maybe give some people a look at how easy it really is! haha thanks for all the help especially Midnightmach

Basically its the same as doing the front lights. Just unscrew or unbolt your tail lights off to reveal wires. cut the power wire to the turn signal. strip the wire and add an additional piece of wire (doesnt have to be long). crimp those together. Now cut the ground to the rear side markers. cut it so that the wire to the bulb has more length than the wire to the car (tape up the wire to the car as you wont need it anymore) then crimp the other end of the wire that you spliced to the power on the turn sig to the ground on the rear side markers and bam your done! repeat on other side! any questions?

Okay man, so just curious... when you turn on the parking lights and the heads, the corners still blink? or do they stop?

when the heads are on (which means parking lights are on also) when you use a turn signal, the turn sigs and park lights will blink simultaneously.

I am a complete and utter noob with wiring, so I'm gonna need some really plain terms here...

What do I use to "splice" the wires? Is it some sort of two way wire clamp deal?

Basically what do I need to go buy, and where do I get them?

And I'm not 100% sure what splicing is meaning here... does it refer to connecting two wires somehow? or one side of the wire?

Most of this stuff I can pick up fairly easily, but I no NOTHING about wiring...

Any help is appreciated

I'll give it a try tomorrow...

lol its ok. splicing together is like connecting the wires yes. Cut the wires like i said then wrap the additional wire like i said then crimp the wires back together. this is the turn sig power wire im talking about. Crimps is a peice that you put wire in one side and wire in the other side and then squeeze down with pliers or use a "wire crimper" lol Make sure you have plenty of bare wire before you connect them back but not to much bare wire if that makes any sence. did that help at all?

What you need for this mod is:

Wire: i used 12 guage cause thats all i had but 16 guage would work just fine just make sure you dont get smaller wire then what is used for the lights.

Crimps: i used 12 guage wire crimps see thats all i had like i said but if you get 12 gauge, use 12 guage crimps, ex. 16 guage wire = 16 guage crimps.

Wire cutter, scissors, or pliers to cut the wire then strip wire to reveal bare wire for connecting reasons.

Electrical tape (to be on safe side )

and i think thats about it...

That help at all?

Yeah man, that helps out a lot. I think I understand the concept.

So the turning sig light is seperate from the corner, and basically I am transferring power from one to the other?

I'll give it a go tomorrow to see what the heck happens.

Where did you get the crimps and wires from?

Also: I'd definitely want to see that next mod you plan on doing.

Thanks A LOT!

Pretty much basically the cool thing about this is the power for the turn signal is its alternating power. It acts as a power and a ground. thats why the parking lights still work fine when turned on. Think of it like this. when the turn signals are off they act as ground which powers the parking lights. when parking lights are off the power running to the turn signals powers both the parking lights and turn signal lights.
And also when you have parking lights on and then turn blinker on you notice it alternates between lights. when the turn signal starts blinking it alternates between ground and power cause the alternative switching back and forth between parking lights and turn sigs.

Wow that was alot more then i thought i would type and i feel like i repeated my self a few times

hm well its the answer i was tryin to make clear atleast hahahahah

Yeah ill post up as soon as i can get some new 5117 sockets and bulbs. also have to get some more wire and crimps (im almost out)

I love doing this stuff. when i graduate im going to a Tech College for Automotive electrical systems to learn even more! As seeing i install systems in cars and loving working with lights so its right up my alley

ONE MORE THING WHILE IM THINKING ABOUT IT!!!!

The ground is the white wire with black strip and power is green wire.

Easy way to remember it... "Green means go"
