4th Generation 1 MZ burning oil at starting

Hi!

I have a problem with my 1997 Camry. It has 113000 miles on it and lately its kinda of hart to start it and when it makes it I have a tremendous eruption of blue smoke and I can corroborate it's consuming oil.

According to your experience what this could be?

Any help will be appreciated.

Valve Guides are worm, it happens to most toyota's. Fixing it basically entails tearing the heads apart to get at the valves, and the best thing to do is just tolerate it. It's an 11 year old car.

I'm going to go on another path and say it;s possible oil sludge that the Gen 4 Camry's ahve had. Have you ever had the Valve Covers off? At 113k miles, the 1MZ should not be burning any oil,

Exactly it's only "113K" so it's weird for me this too. I have never had those removed but i can tell you the comsuption of oil is existing.

What´s the situation with this oil sludge?

Should I try (something that I don´t want to) an additive into the engine's oil?

Thanks again

Hi from Australia, I have a 98 Australian made Gen4 V6 Camry with the 1MZ motor and I would suggest you change oil every 5000k's to make sure your engine doesnt sludge, in case it has already started I would use an additide that reduces sludge and do a few oil changes.
