3rd Generation Advice on drop ???

Hey folks,

I recently got a good deal on a set of 17'' with new low profile tires for $400. Beside the vibration issue i'm dealing with, I'm planning to drop the car at least 2'' all around, since the rear looks horrible...

I came to the local shop, the guy made a few phone calls then tell me he found a spring kits for my cam with 1.2'' drop front and 1'' rear. He quote me 600$ for everything, installing and stuffs ...

Money is not an issue here since I just realized I already invested over 3k on this forgodsaken ride. I just wonder wheather it's worthy ? If yes, then body kits will have to wait.

Since i dont have experience on this matter, can you guys give me a list of parts that I need ?

Thanks a bunch

It's unclear, as I got it when it was 192k, just hit 200k last month. I never really have a problem with it though.

Replace the struts and also a good idea to replace the mounts as well.

Damn! Shows just how much my rearend is sagging. Makes mine look like it's already dropped. Sheit!

Nice looking camry though. Would definitely do the drop though. As for price, I'd ask, what brand, and warranty.

The AG ones look nice that are on eBay, but has anyone here ever used them? How are they and will the last? From the AG website they say there's a 2yr warranty on them. H&K sports seem what most recommend from what I've seen. Don't know what the difference is though.

u can get the best set of springs for like 200..

1 inch drop is barely noticeable.

Thanks cykaaro, it's on busy schedule for installing as I can't afford to leave it off the shop anyday.

Ok i found another one that would go 1.5'' front and rear, how low should I go ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Zenn-...mZ190252963696

I want to add the RMM lip on later, and with 1.8'', I'm afraid it's gonna fall on the first dip near by my drive way.

Buy the springs yourself and get some tokico struts to go with it. Buying lowering springs and putting it on a stock strut is stupid.

Big thing buy it yourself the spring and struts and only have the shop install for you so you only get charged for the labor.

They are raping you hard man for $600 for just springs and labor. The most expensive lowering springs is H&R Sport springs or Eibach springs which are the best ones better handling and ride but they don't drop as much but they are good quality. So the most I seen them for is like $230 then you got to consider labor and that depends on the shop but I didn't see anything more than $250 for labor and that's with installing new shocks with it too.

So another reason to do it right by getting springs and the tokico struts you save on labor since they usually charge the same regardless if you putting both or not since it's the same procedure. Don't get fooled buy it yourself and let them install for you if you can't do it yourself.
