Primer vs. Filler Primer?

Ok so I've decided to do a makeshift repair of the paint chip I have on the car, mostly for protection rather than looks, ahead of winter. I go to pepboys and see that duplicolor has two sorts of primer.

Now I'm guessing filler primer means it can be used to fill up small dents on the car, and all I really need is the regular kind. Am I right?

On that thought, what primer color should I use if I had to choose between white or black? I'm guessing white since I have a beige car.

Thanks for the feedback, this is quite a simple question, really.

I think filler primer is when the paint chip is very deep.

I would chose white primer. Although, I would paint it afterwards with touchup paint. Duplicolor had paint for my 1997.

filler primer is best used when there is body work or scratches in the metal that you want to fill instead of sand out, its a high building primer, kind of like the difference between dipping a crinkle cut frecnh fry in ketchup or tomato soup, one fills in the gaps better.

if its a small chip, you 'COULD' get a ything of touch up paint and use either the brush or a tooth pic and dope in the paint, in other words you fill the chip with paint, not as pretty as sanding it out, but better thena primer spot, better protection, etc.

just dab the paint in and use a spread, credit card, or a clean sheet of paper to remove the excess.

^^ It's a full chip, I posted a picture of it a year ago, I'll try to take another one in the morning. A chunk of paint fell off, and it's been glued back with some adhesive putty , but there are cracks and stuff.

Maybe I should instead ask for the best way to repair the damn thing, lol.
