Just put on a new exhaust... (Videos Added 10.26.08)

What up, what up fellow TNers

Finally got around to putting a new muffler on My cousin knows the owners of a shop in Daly City, and hes got a few connections in the show car industry, so I got a pretty good deal

Basically grabbed the dual tip Magnaflow they had, which was the one I'd been eying for a while.

Got rid of the old one...

Out with the old...

In the with the new...

And of course, the sound clip...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOCP-CJE4U0

My take on it:
There's quite a bit of resonance in the cabin even with a pretty light foot below 3000 rpm. However, 4000rpms and up, it (amazingly) goes silent, and I get to hear my semi CAI for once, heh.

UPDATE:
Fly by video

Sounds a little raspy but not too bad, do you have a resonator?

That's a question that I honestly don't know the answer to, heh. How can I tell if I do or not?

Well QU!K, seeing that you're in CA, you don't have a resonator. You have a down stream catalytic converter. It's just after the flex pipe where a non-CA Camry would have a resonator.

Haha, yeah, well I was close enough to take pictures during the whole installation, and I was always around to let the guy know if I wanted him to make any adjustments

Honestly there's a lot of resonating in the cabin in thel ower RPMs, so I hated it at first, but it's already starting to grow on me, hahaha

Glad to hear you guys like the look and the sound

you may want to consider deleting the resonator. my gen4 had no resonator and a 3" exhaust. my coupe had a resonator, stock exhaust and magnaflow and was 3 times as loud inside as my gen4 with the 3" exhaust.

Form what I know, this is how it goes...

Cali emissions:

Exhaust manifold--> O2 sensor--> manifold converter--> O2 sensor--> flex pipe--> down stream converter--> muffler

Non-Cali:

Exhaust manifold--> O2 sensor--> manifold converter--> O2 sensor--> flex pipe--> resonator--> muffler

If the down stream converter is removed you will not pass the smog test. Been there, done that...
