3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Thinking about installing a cherry bomb muffler from my local auto store onto my '92 4I camry. What size will I need? Any tips or suggestions before I approach this?
If you can resist any sort of "don't bother" or other such snarky replies, that would be helpful.
lol.. a buddy of mine told me to replace my stock resonator with a cheery bomb.. lol.. kinda dont wanna try it since i got a magnaflow on.. dont want it to be too loud and be all raspy..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the piping size is 1.75" for the i4. Anyone want to confirm?
That sounds about right; I'd believe it. I know I went up, when I went to 2.25".
Here's a pic of my car with the stock exhaust setup
compared to the piping it has now (2.25") + the new muffler
You be the judge...
If you do get that Cherry Bomb muffler though, they'll probably just end up welding you a whole new pipe to adapt to the inlet (assuming its a good shop like the one I went to, heh)

N35QU!K do you remember what brand and model those rims are? They look good and flow with the car, I have the V6LE "sport" in the exact same color with the rear spoiler.
I almost wonder if a cherry bomb in place of the resonator then the magnaflow tip-muffler might cut down on resonance a little....? Not to mention better flow.

I was lucky to get em off of a fellow TN member a little over a year ago
they're KMC "Custom" Hotwheels rims, 17x7".
And yes, I do agree that they go well with the flow of the car, especially now with my black/blue/silver-gray theme I've got going

I remember a guy posted a thread on here a while back about his install of the Thrush Turbo, and it sounded pretty damn good. If I remember, I found the same muffler online for like $25 or something
