Hi guys,
I have that hard clunk moving the shifter from "D" to "R", and less so when putting it back to "D". This leads me to believe one of these mounts are shot (most likely the rear one based on the readings here). Otherwise, the transmission shifts smoothly and the car drives fine in all gears.
The dog bone was visually shot so I replaced it two weeks ago, thinking it would dampen up the clunk a bit. In the contrary to my belief, the clunk some how got worse
How do I inspect and replace these mount? In case these do need to be replace, do I
. need to remove the dog bone (engine torque rod) first?
and then
. jack the engine up using the hydraulic jack on the oil pan with a wooden block?
Detailed procedures are greatly appreciated. The Camry is new to me so I'm still on the learning curve here.
Thanks in advance guys!
Frank.
