transmission won't shift to 3rd and od till warm

Hi,

Just noticed a week ago that while the motor is cold my transmission will not shift into 3rd or od.
It is a 4cyl car with 131k miles on it. Also its a 1996. After it comes up to operating tempeture there is no problem. I am thinking about going to the dealer to get the tranny flushed. Any other ideas?

Thanks

don't tell me you are going about 35 mph and it won't shift?

I'm pretty sure that's common, I think it's suppose to warm up the car quickly. My brother's V6 does the same thing, and had done it even when I had it.
