Magnaflow 14862 review

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=7907
Put this bad boy on awhile ago, never got time to get some sound clip. Today, well, I managed to grab a quick clip of my car, check it out.

It's a 1mzfe 6 cylinders with the maggy 14862 muffler only, stock piping and resonator
Clip (turn up the bass, this thing is one bassy mofo)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzM_viob3sk

Muffler: $200
Installation: $120

Could have sit just a tad up it'd be flush but hey, me no wants smoked bumper

Positive:
Nice chrome and oem looking, DEEP DEEP DEEP tone, no raspiness at ALL. Good at about idle til 3000rpm.
Free flowing muffler helps some hp at top end but I also lose some torque low end.

Negative:
Good at about idle til 3000rpm, after that, it's nothing...
Drone most at 2100rpm-2500rpm, ~65-70mph on OD gear.

Negative overcome? Cruise outside of 65-70mph range, it's easy. And windows down and radio up will make the drone barely noticeable.

Recommend? Hell yes, anyone looking some more noise out of their 1mzfe definitely look into this, it makes the guy in G35 and any ricer jealous. Low deep tone, if you want to rev off sometimes and still doesn't make your gf's mom freak out. She might love you too.

all the V6s seem to drone with magnaflow mufflers (most aftermarket mufflers, actually ... but especially these magnaflows) ... i know eyeball96 claims his was pretty bad

Sounds like my first 2 Magnaflows that I had. The were low and deep below 2.5K but after that you couldn't really hear them. Not bad, but I think they charged too much for the install.

sounds good. but it does drone like a SOB. i still think its the stock resonator that causes it. my coupe would drone about the same even when it had NO muffler.

Nice muffler, looks familiar It sounds a lot better on your car if you ask me.

The cabin resonance is definitely a bitch, but its a beast muffler nonetheless.

Truth. I hate it the first couple day while cruising with it but I learnt to drive off the drone range, plus I think it got a little quieter after it broke in OR a part of my hearing is gone already.

The only camera I have is iphone, and it doesn't have video capability Actually I didn't even have a chance to hear fom outside the car, but I believe it's bad ass For your installation charge, may be just because it's a camry - special treaty

As far as tucking it up, as far up as possible but it needs to clear the rear axle about half an inch to an inch or so to accommodate flexing. Then it will look good.
