"BRAKE" light comes on and off

I can't understand why my handbrake light keeps coming on.
I haven't used it since last winter, but as I was driving the light kept coming on then off.
I played with the handle but it made no difference.

The only thing that was different today from any other day was that it was cold this morning. But thats it.

any ideas?

Your low on brake fluid...add alittle to reservoir.

I thought the brake light was only for the handbrake. I'll add some and see if that does it. Thanks!

Have your brakes check too if you haven't had a brake inspection lately. When the brakes wear, fluid level goes down. The brake warning light is used on more circuits than just the park brakes.

I have noticed that my brakes have been a little on the weak side... and the back right drum thumps when braking at high speed.

Brakes dust or out of round drums can cause unusual noise from drum brakes, take closer look at it when you inspect or have the brakes inspected. Properly adjusted rear brakes can improve on brake performance even though majority of the braking is done by the front.
