3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
have any of you turbo guys ever thought about it. im sure tony the tiger has.
for the 4 bangers, a turbo system, which feeds are to a cintrifugal supercharger, or for you v6 guys, twin turbo and the trd root style supercharger. definately a lot of custom work.
that would be pretty badass. definately would have to build the motor though
"if twin charging is stupid then tripple charge...."
"bearly anyone goes FI on camrys anyways so...."
"dis thread is stupid! you so stupid! i sees it on a SRT10 hamster and...."
end thread
PS. tony would never even consider it.

Thats the tri-turbo supra, its overkill in my opinion. While we are on the subject of expensive, over the top, never been done before power options for the camry I'm going to mention itb's (individual throttle bodies) and what do you think of them in general? I always heard they give you quicker throttle response and more uniform torque gains than a turbo does.

Yes ITB's will yeild greater torque in the low end. That's because you're opening up the usable air/fuel ratio without using a turbine, that is directly ported into the combustion chamber.
Look up Ae86's and 92's mr2's and several others with ITBs on youtube. They are a wicked alternative to turboing or s/cing!
bigbird, although there is no reason to call anyone stupid, i understand what your saying. my friend who owns an e30 introduced the idea to me. in no way am i ever going to consider even twin charging. if i can buy this 78 z28, i wont even consider modding the camry anymore.
btw, ive been researching turbocharging for almost a year, so i know what one would be getting into.
just an idea.
