Write down the code(s). Many times the auto parts store people will tell you what they think is causing the code (they are usually wrong) and not tell you the code. Make sure you get the code(s) from them and write them down so you can report what the actual code is.

me too, I don't want to hijack this thread but since it may be similar issues, if this violate a certain posting etiquette, please let me know and I'll start another thread.

My 01 V6's engine check light just came on. I did go to Autozone and the reported code was P-1410, 1411, 0420.
I thought to check with my nearby Toyota dealer but they said it needs to their coding before they know what it may be, contrary to what Autozone people tells me, that codes are standard.

Can anyone tell me what this codes means, another place tells me it could be emission sensor related and recommended me to start with some fuel Injector cleaner and see if that take care of it or not. Someone else says it maybe the EGR valve sensor...

I am so lost...

Try this link: http://www.troublecodes.net/Toyota/

Those are Toyota codes, and that dealer is pulling you legs. Most of the three digit codes that begins P0xxx are universal codes, regardless of manufacturers; the four digit codes, Pxxx, are manufacturer specific.

The light is off right before I arrived at the Autozone. So I think the problem may be that I didn't securitily tight the fuel tank cap.

It would still be stored in the ECM memory, unless you disconnected the battery or have enough ignition cycle without fault.
