Shocks and Struts

So i got Lowering Springs on the way, and im gonna buy Tokico Shocks for my 1994 V6 camry.

What I need to know is what is the difference between shocks and struts? do i need them both or what?? my car has 70,000 miles on it. When i look at the shocks online it says (Exc. Will not fit sealed strut) what does that mean?

Im sorry if this seems like a stupid question, just dont wanna waste my money and i couldnt really find an explination online

We have Springs and Struts only.

you have 4 struts - struts can be sealed or not, if they arent sealed that means you can just replace the center inserts instead of the entire strut
