Has anyone done it without jacking the car up?

I've only done it once without a jack because I had use of a lift.

Unless you're really thin, it's rather hard to reach without lifting the vehicle.

You can use a pit, or a ditch.

Why would you avoid jacking up the car and blocking it?

Because I only have one pair of jackstands and the car needs to be level for this job.
I was able to change the tranny fluid last week without jacking the car up.

Just buy another set of jack stands, and your problem will be solved.

Filling the diff when the car is inclined on drivers side will not affect fluid level alot, which is how I do it.
