3rd Generation 96 Camry Engine overheats into the red hot zone

When I was driving my 1996 Camry with 166,800 miles on it at highway speeds the engine temperature was normal. Got of the highway to wait at a long light the engine temperature started rising into the red zone. About a week ago I want to The Toyota Dealer to get the antifreeze flush. They flushed out the old anti freeze and gave me new antifreeze. Now I'm back to the same problem I had before I flushed out the anti freeze. Please someone help me and tell how to fix the engine from overheating. Thanking you in advance.

As well as what N E O asked, have you ever changed your thermostate and radiator cap?

It could be...

-Radiator Cap(s)
-Thermostat
-Radiator
-Water Pump
Or at worst... Headgasket, but there would be more crap going on than what you describe.

What other crap can be going on, what will happen if I ignore the problem.

Unless you know what is wrong with the car, no one can tell you what will happen. There were suggestion in areas that maybe causing the problem, but you never did determine what the cause is.
