Gen 4/4.5 Headers

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Xerd headers and the JP Performance headers? It seems that the only difference is the JP headers include a high flow cat. Can I expect similar gains (28 hp & 28 ft/lbs) from the Xerd header system? Does anyone know if the Xerd headers are also ceramic coated?

Thanks,
Ryan

since one company would be biased on their opinion i'd say get a dyno with those headers on same car if possible and you can do a estimate on comparing gains.

I put my deposit on the XERD headers a couple days ago. I think that essentially there will be no big difference between the two and that the power gains should be similar. I've heard excellent things about the quality of the XERD products (thus doing well to offset their stigma of horrendous customer service) so I decided to take the plunge . I was going to keep the purchase a "secret" so I could surprise everyone with the dyno gains but as long as you brought it up...

Xerd headers used to be ceramic coated as well and came w/ a (1) yr wrnty. They've since switched to SS and come w/ a limited lifetime wrnty.Being long-tube they eliminate the cat so are technically for off-road use only but as a result probably flow better than a shorty-type header. They are also considerably less $$.
On the other hand the JP headers seem to have a loyal following.I don't think there's anyone who has complained of their quality and certainly not about their performance. The Xerd's are just now being released so time will tell as to how well they'll actually perform.
I just put down a deposit on the Xerd's as well (a) because they're SS, (b) because they're long-tubes and (c) because they're a helluva lot less expensive than JP...
