My Auto tranny is starting to shift very hard. especially when I put it into drive.........5sfe with an A/T........more expensive to rebuild or swap.....?.....I want to swap with a M/T........how much would that run me.......Help...?

does your steering wheel shake and the cabin shake when your car is stopped, your foot is on the brake, and the car is in gear?

Sounds like a dogbone motor mount. Same thing happened on my 92 Camry (banging into drive, shaking at stop lights). When at fast idle on cold startup, putting it into drive produced a violent "bang" from the front. I thought it was the tranny and someone from this board (4 years ago) told me to change the motor mount. My mechanic did it for $100. Problem solved!

I just replaced my dog bone but it was damaged again. I dont know why. But my tranny actually slips a little when going from Neutral to drive So I dont think thats the sole problem.

but if you replaced your dogbone and then it got chewed up again, it means that your other mounts are gone, and that's why it's putting all the stress on your new dogbone, thus destroying it in short order

check your front and rear engine mounts, more often than not, it means your rear mount is shot
