3rd Generation CRAZY IDEA>>>!!!!!! Is This Possible?????

Hello all, just came up with a crazy idea. Does anyone think it would be possible to take out the bulb out of the side parking lights.....and......modify it to fit the high beam housing. Put in some HID ballasts and bulbs for the high beams and have them in the corner housing. So completely get rid of the orange bulb ugly side lights and have your high beams housed in there. Would anyone think that would be remotely a good idea.......???? Let me know what you think.....????

The blinking function will not be good for ballast

The concept would not be to make these blinking lights since the bumper lights blink it would be to get a different look out of the front end. While driving at night the orange clear lenses would not be there. When you turn on you high beams they would come out of the side rather than the main head light housing......

so all you want to do is switch your highbeam with your corner light, right?

If you cut out the rear of the housings and epoxy them on, you can do that fine..

however, 92-94 Camrys come with clear corner lights, and those require no modifications to install...

Shouldnt they still function as extra light even if they are out to the side....they would actually provide a wider span of light when your on the road. Also I dont really use my high beams, so it wouldnt be inconveniencing myself.

headlights are designed to project light ... the high-beam section projects it upward and outward

corner lights are not designed for this, at all .... so, pretty much a bad idea in all possible ways

the highbeams are in a glass housing and the corners in a plastic housing...sounds like i good idea but im guessing the heat generated from the high beams would burn the plastic housing of the corners as it emits more heat that the corner light bulbs..jus my 2 cents...i cud b wrong

Why don't you just do some wires with a relay, so you would still have your hi beam function

it would look something like this but instead of using a switch you yould connect #86 to your hi beam wire.

The parking light will melt. You will have to redesign the housing it fit a bulb that size. Plus you will be blinding people with all that light. Try and fit a 9005 in the corner light and you'll see what i mean.
