UK Stand alone/ 1mz-fe

Hi, it's been a while since I've been on. Hope eveyone is well.

I've gone stand alone ecu, it's a link G4 storm. Had the car mapped today. The car has had a misfire for sometime now, the plugs and ignitor have been replaced and all seemed well on the journey down to the rolling road.

As soon as the car went on the rollers it developed a misfire, the plugs were checked and so were the coils. Still misfired, so Ryan (the mapper) checked the coil pack connection plugs and low and behold we had full power, no missing.

The car had been on the dyno for about 2 hours and was running hot. It made 282.9 bhp. Ryan says the injectors are maxed out, so I'm looking at putting the soup 440cc's in. He thinks we should hit the 300 bhp mark. He also says if the car had been cold and it was just a dyno run it would have shown more power.

We took the car up the road after the mapping session and what can I say. The car has never been as smooooth, responsive. Every aspect of the driving the car is so much better, my rough diamond has now been polished. Top job mate, thanks

they are 240cc injectors though some have 220cc's. you should be good with 330's no nead for for 440's. they'll end up too big and your fuel map will look retarded. what stand alone did you go with? I have injectors if you want to pm.

great work! I remember when you first posted up about your swap and the blower!

Also, what samurai said is correct- 440cc's will be wayyyy too much fuel for your setup. You'll end up having to pull -30-40% fuel throughout your fuel map to make those things work. The supra 330cc injectors will be perfect for your application at the moment, and you'll only have to pull about 15-20% or so throughout your map for 4psi. You're at about the right point for maxing out your injectors. I maxed mine out a 255whp, so a bit more power than you're putting down- but I was running 7psi at the time- so I basically put down the same amount of power as others at 5.5psi and couldn't use the full 7psi potential without enough fuel.

It always astounds me how much more power the mr2s can make due to their shorter exhaust system compared to the camry/solara

great work!

how is the G4?

Cheers mate, you might have to get a screamer pipe made up Don't forget the exhaust system is a full custom job headers etc and with no cat.

I'm going to have a word with my mapper se what he says about injectors.

I'm in two minds weather to get some headwork done a shove a 6 psi pulley on there, I'm not too worried about the ringlands it's the conrods that worry me and how much power they can take.

I like the G4, cracking bit o kit and a great price. I can't tell you how much more driveable and responsive the car is. A big percentage of that of course is down to the mapper.

^ yeah, for sure

and lol...yeah....I've thought about a cut-out...but we'll see...maybe in the future.

As well, though, yeah, I understand the custom exhaust work...but you mr2 guys put down around 10whp more on a STOCK 1mz than camry/solara guys as it is, so with boost, it makes a huge difference....great choice and great power for the mr2 for sure
