Extended warranty

I am thinking about purchasing a 97 camry with 65k miles. I was just wondering if anyone has purchased any extended warranties from a company online? I will probably end up getting a warranty from my credit union but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten a better deal from somewhere online?

There is not a lot of recommendation here for extended warranties other then Toyota Corp backed. The third party warranties often have a lot of loop holes in them, leaving the car owner out of luck.

x2

Eye8Pussies here bought a '99 Solara last year, and got an extended warentee. There was a few issues and the warentee was almost useless, and my mechanic nearly stabbed me for having to deal with them. Said that is the last time he will ever deal with a 3rd party warentee company.....

Think about it- any warranty that you buy for a 12 year old car is either going to be ridiculously expensive or completely worthless. (Or both)

The best warranty available in your situation? A trusted mechanic that will give the car a thorough health inspection before you actually buy the car.
