USA 1995 Camry 2.2 engine convert to Japanese 2.0

I recently experienced my engine locking up on me because of very low oil remaining in the engine because of a bad oil change at Walmart.

I bought a used 1993 2.0 Japanese engine to replace the 1995 2.2 engine.
On the first night the starter went out.

Is this a normal?
I have read all of these difference websites saying that it's okay to replace with the 2.0. Why the complication?

Help, help, help... Please..
This is an expensive process...

Was it the starter for the 3sfe or did you use the starter from your 5sfe?

same tranny? is the fly wheel on those exactly the same size? and starter placement? you'd better make sure before your starter eats a fly wheel.

I would say your first chore would be to verrify that the two use the same starter. If the 3SFE takes more torque than the 5SFE does, it may have over stressed the 5SFE's starter. Samari912's points are also good. Incorrect alignment might also stress out the starter or damage the "flywheel".
