ok so im thinkin about doing it (way easy i know) but im buying nokya arctic white bulbs which are 7000k halogen bulbs. 55w pwr, 100watt output (i believe) would the mod work with these bulbs or would i fry the wiring harness up?
if i remember correctly, some people have fried the wiring with just using standard 9005 bulbs since they are already a higher wattage than 9006 bulbs
K imma still get these bulbs but imma deff stick with 9006-9006 and 9005-9005 hahha to be on safe side.
P.S be expecting a thread with all the mods i just did in the last week or 2 withen the next week when i get all the parts in. about half are still on order. nothing major but major for me cause i finally got money (bday) hahaha
well after reading several reviews about nokya arctic white and cosmic white, i was told they they are nothing special for visability and acually seam dimmer then stock headlights.
I am still going to get the nokya 2500k yellow high beams but imma get silvania silver star ultras for the low beams.
IMO I would say keep the 9005 with the 9005 and the 9006 with the 9006, otherwise you have a chance of melting the harness like Venom said. IIRC earlier this year BlueFusion6851 fried his harness and he had the 9006-->9005 conversion. Remember, the harness' are designed to carry a max load of 65 watts each.

yeah ill keep it like you said. but i think just to be on the safe side because i really want these arctic white bulbs does anywone know where i can get a plug and play upgraded wiring harness for cheap that can handle the additional power?
I still sya the ONLY way your goign to fry the harness with a 9005 in the low beam is if you incorrectly mod it to fit. I have SilverStar 9005 in my low beams for 1.5 years till they burned out. And they were used all the time, as at that point in time. 1/3 of my driving was at night. I also installed the bulbs in my dad's car. Lasted 2 years (doesn't drive as much), and actually replaced them with just 9006 2 weeks ago as that was all I had when the bulb went out. Neither so much as a black mark on the harness. The wires are the same, the only difference is the actual plug. My suggestion would be hit a junyard, cut the 2 high beam plugs, and swap them with your low beam plugs, WITHOUT cutting them on your car. The wires can be taken out without harming the plug itself, so you can always change it back without cutting anything.
