Weird temperature readings

I have a 99 toyo. cam. 5sfe. I have been having this problem for a while. The coolant temperature tends to rise above the half way mark on the dash. The car has new water pump, thermostat, timing belt, etc... Sometimes it doesn't even happen. I have one of those computer readers I bought on the forum. The car maintains a water temp. of 206 when it goes over the half mark it can reach a max. of 233. Once the fans comes on the temperature drops. I taught it may be the fan switches I replace all of them. Thx.

If the temperature returns to normal when the fans are running then most likely it is the fan temp sensor (mounted in the bottom of the radiator). If I recall, when you disconnect the fan from the sensor the fan turns on. You could do this and see if the temp ever got too high again. If not then the sensor (or the wiring) was the problem. If it does get hot with the fan on then there are other things that you need to investigate.
