Engine seems to be making more noise at high RPMs than usual.

Hey,

I have a 1992 I4 Manual camry and lately I have noticed that the engine is making a lot more noise when at high RPMs... It doesnt seem to be coming from the exhaust or anything, really the engine itself.

The noise sounds like the engine is under a lot of stress, like as if I was climbing a hill kind of.

To most passengers etc. everything seems fine but I can tell that the engine is not happy at high RPMs anymore. I drive in higher gear than usual now to keep the rpms down, but when I'm on the highway in 5th and I'm around 2900+ RPMs I can hear it.

I just seafoamed then engine thru the brake booster line maybe 2 weeks ago. Maybe cleaning it changed something?

Is there anything wrong, should I check anything?

Thanks

Have you checked out the timing belt, idlers, water pump, etc?

+1, after seafoaming it's a good idea to replace or at least clean your spark plugs
