Is this the original radio?

There should be two power wires running to it. One from the ign switch, the other is always hot to prevent radio memory reset when key is off.

Check your fuses, Radio1, Radio2.

^^ definitely check the wiring, you don't want that to short circuit if something is touching.

Other than that, did you recently add anything electrical? Or messed around with the electrical system? Also does your digital clock reset also? If you clock resets, then I would check your fuse box, or even the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connection!

maybe i should point out that i'm a speed freak and i drive my car like i stole it, always drag racing... does that have anything to do with it?

No, racing should not effect this.

The clock memory may now be on other fuses rather then combined as in the past. Such as Cig, Panel and Dome.

Suggest you remove the radio and test the power wires. One should have power when the ign switch is on, the other always. Wires might be Gray for ign power, Blue/Yellow for constant power.

4th Generation

This exact thing happened to me about 3 months ago. It turned out to be a bad battery. The car would start just fine but for some reason the memory resets would disappear. A new battery fixed it right up.

Wouldn't hurt much to have your battery tested.
