3rd Generation 93 Camry Hydraulic fan problem .. Help

I have a 93 V6 3VZ-FE

Does anyone know the exact location of the soleniod valve for the hydraulic fan?
I have found two yellow wires with connectors (one with a blue stripe) not connected to anything... hanging from the top of my engine in the wiring bundle.
According to all literature I could find, these wires are supposed to be connected to the solenoid valve which controls the fan speed. I am getting a major headache as I have looked high and low in my engine bay but cannot see where these tow wires are supposed to go.

Symptoms:
My fan turns at the same speed even when it gets hot and I know its supposed to speed up.
It used to until the engine was replaced.
I believe this is also what is causing my Check Engine Light to come on (resetting manually by pulling fuse for 15 secs)

This is the diagram I am referring to:

On the back of the power steering pump at the back of the engine. It won't cause a CEL, however. Try to pull the code!

Thanks new echo owner, even though I couldn't see, it I fished around there and came up with two black leads...I could not have done it if you didn't tell me where to begin looking.

I connected the leads to the yellow wires and checked by jumping E1 OP1 on the datalink ..The fan spun up!

My back hurts and I lost some skin but it works. Hope it stays connected because I did it all by sense of feel with one hand. Not sure how secure it is.

The origin of this search was I was getting a CEL and the code was reporting Knock Sensor. I remembered reading on this site reading about how to fool a the management module by disconnecting the suspect knock sensor and tapping just into the other sensor for both sides of the V6. Anyways, it tripped a cel again, reporting knock sensor. I switched around to be sure and it again failed with same result.
Two knock sendors going out at the same time is impossible.

I started digging and somehow something stuck in my head about engine getting too hot can cause knock sensor CELs. So I went back to the drawing board and found out about my fan failing to spin up when I jumped it to make sure I was getting correct cooling. I knew it was not hydraulic because the fan was spinning at low speed but nothing happened when I jumpered it. I started fishing around and found those two yellow wires just hanging there. The guy who replaced my engine a while back must have 'forgotten'.Thank goodness he doesn't work on aircraft.

Just got back from test drive and could not provoke the cel. Used to be able to do iy by driving up this mile long steep hill at a constant speed. Hope it's done. Thanks again.

Now that you put it that way, it make sense about the CEL.

Good to hear that you have it working.

Enjoy your ride, and drive save!
