1mzfe stalls when I slow down

Hey all,

For the past few weeks, I've had to give my 97 avalon a little gas when starting to keep it on. After that it would drive fine.

However, today the problem got much worse. On my way home, the engine cut off several times when I slowed down to a stop. I had to restart the car numerous times to get home.

Ideas?

Car has 167k, I changed the plugs, air filter, and pcv about 6 months ago. Plugs are Denso OEM.

Thanks all

clean your idle air control- it's the unit that's under your throttle body

to clean it, take off your intake hose, open your throttle body plate and spray lots of throttlebody cleaner down there

if that doesn't do it, then the iac may have to be replaced

I took off the throttle body and sprayed it like crazy with air intake cleaner. So far, it hasn't stalled yet!
