Too Much Exhaust Noise

i have a bit of a strange problem which is probably gonna sound weird to most people. well, i have an 97 camry with the 4 cylinder motor and i got an 2.5" magnaflow muffler installed from the axle-back. i kept the resonator and stock piping because i didn't want the exhaust sound to be too noisy or loud. i did not have the muffler guy put on a tip to the magnaflow cause i wanted to have a double-wall tip and he didnt have the one i wanted.

problem now is that the exhaust sound is louder than i planned. it sounds nice throughout the rev band, very throaty muscle car-like idle, but the thing is that i got too use to the quietness of the camry. my question now is if i put a tip on the muffler, will you help reduce the sound and what are some ways to muffle what i consider excess noise?

A tip will do nothing to help reduce the sound. You'll just have to get use to the new sound, or put the stock muffler back on.

The muffler will wear in a bit and ecome quieter but not by much. You need another muffler under the car to quiet it down.

does the current tip of the muffler end infront the bumper. because if it does then it will effect resonance a bit. happened to me after a tip on one of my old cars fell off. put a tip back on and it was a little quieter. theres a good chance that the stock resonator is also causing the drone, still speculation at this point though.
