3rd Generation PWR button on Gen 3

Hey, i have a question. For those Gen 3 owners that know what i'm talking about, there is a button in the center console next to the gear selector. When engaged, the vehicles shift pattern changes for better power.
My question is, does this alter my fuel economy like taking the car out of overdrive?

Yes, it does. The engine stays at a higher RPM in each gear than normal. That will decrease the MPG.

ive found that it actually makes a big differance most of the time. even when you drive as doscile as possible that feature will still hold shifts about 500 RPMs longer and is jumpier on the down shift then with it off. but i love it and use it when i need the extra RPMs.

Yeah, it makes me feel like having more power, like a boost control or something.

I know, I'm just tricking myself at the end, lol.

mine is wired directly into the flux capacitors...

i usually drive with ECT on because i drive way too aggressive for anyone that owns an economy sedan but yes, it will let the auto tranny rev higher in each gear before shifting so you get "better" acceleration ... "PWR" = Power Acceleration mode or whatever, not that it really makes a huge difference

"PWR" is just a standard abbreviation for the word power.

3rd Generation

Yeah I leave this bitch on all the time. After you have it on for awhile switching back feels just wrong anyways.

And as noted by Venom, I also tend to drive a family sedan way too agressively.

Oh yeah, as a side note I saw a young dude driving a Green Gen 3.5 in need of a paintjob the other day, and he was tailgating every person that was in front of him and gunning it every chance he got, funny as hell

Ok, I see. My car didn't have the owner's manual when I bought it, and I've never even looked up that function in the repair manual either. I have a 4-banger, so it will not make much of a difference for me anyway. I just leave it off, and don't give it a second thought. I've never even used that button since I bought this car.

Anything thing weird that lights up on the dash should be off, it's just common sense.

BTW, the button gives me high hope to smoke the fucktard in civic in next lane.

Sorry to say it, but you'd be the fucktard if you're trying to race someone on the street.
