3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
pics...we need pics. but yeah that shouldnt happen...even with drop zones. you may have gotten a bad set. the rears may be bad. front shoudl settle first then the rears.
dropzones have been noted to sit uneven ... the car sits even, but the wheel gap is uneven (more gap in the front)
all springs will settle over time tho
I actually tried to take everything in the trunk out, even the spare tire to see if it help, but no difference.
And I'm also aware that the drop will be uneven for I4 compared to v6 due to engine weight. But this is more extreme right here than what I've ever seen.
I first got DZ Sport (sport version of DropZone) springs on my Cam, and I had that exact stance, tucking in the rear and off-roading in the front. 5000 miles later & it hadn't changed at all, so I got Intrax springs (cost twice as much, but perfect stance, ride quality, and good handling). When I took off the DZ Sport springs all of the cheap red paint they used had flaked off and the springs were rusting.
Moral of the story, take the hit to the wallet and buy some better springs, you'll be happy you did.

^really...that sucks. i cant imagine they still sell if they are that bad. maby its a 5sfe thing. eye8pussies had drop zones i think and his looked fine.
I originally had Dropzones and had the same results. Like Gino (2wickedtoyz) said the fenders are cut higher in the front so even though it appears to be sitting higher in the front the drop is even all around.
I bagged my Camry and still have the same results. I'm tucking rim in the back and am barely tucking 1mm of tire up front.

I'm running 17x8 offset 45, original struts. I'm seriously thinking about swapping in a set of 18" eventhough there's a highly possibility of rubbing, slugging and speedometer reading issue.
I'm really hoping that's the lowest the rear would go, I just can't take the noise of fiberglass breaking everytime i move in and out the drive way. Will keep a close watch on the front.
^^Haha I thought that was funny. Yeah that sucks the drop is uneven like that. I think you should just get a different set of springs. New struts wouldn't hurt either. BTW, I saw your post in the Canyon Run thread. Are you gonna come out to the next meet?
Ok, i was gonna swap the freaking rear airdam with stock bumper. But second thought, if the fiberglass is't there, it's the muffler that will get scratched, bigger trouble ... The muffler is 6" off the ground, and the lowest part of the pipe is only 2"
