The wheels are 17x7 Exel E-2 on 215/50/17 firestone tires. The tires still has some tread life but needs changing soon. I want to put on some 225/45/17 tires..think this will fit? The offset is either 46 or 34...inside the wheel it says ET 34 on the hub and ET_4_6 on the spokes...any ideas? Anyways, I'll let the pictures do the talking
Those are some nice clean wheels and for the tire I would recommend 215/45/17. 225 is too wide and with 215 it will be flush with the lip. I have 17's with 215/45/17 and fits nice on my Gen 4 and did not had to get an alignment.
215 is a good size. If you want 225 make sure the offset is 42. You dont really want to go with a tire smaller than 45. 45 to 50 is a good size. Too small and its like riding around on solid rubbber tires. 225 are nice FAT tires. All depends on the offset. Itll be on the inside of the rim. Itll be something like o34 or o43.
Sharp Wheels.

I want wider tires for my girlfriend because she wants her camry to handle a bit better...I know suspension has a lot to do with it too which will come next. I believe the offset is 34 which should give me some room to run 225/45/17 tires. Here's my next concern, she still wants comfort so should I go with a 225/50/17 for extra cushion or should I just stick to 215/50/17?
215/50.17 is where you definetly want to be at; one ov the boiis here in norcal was running 225/50.17 on his enkeis with tein h-techs and it didn't rub.. BUT - the wheel's offset was pretty high. +45 i think. good luck n' i hope to see you around.

my buddy has a set of fairly good tread 235/45/17 tires. The wheels are ET34...I called the rep today and she said 34 is more like it and E_T_4_6 could be something else. With that offset do you guys think I can run 235/45/17 tires? Where in norcal are you ONE_to_HATE?
im in 408 mostly.. but i go to 510/415 area often.. lol and 235/45 are gonna be a no go unless ur planning on rolling ur fenders.. even then - the wheels would be so far inside the tire - it'd look pretty ridiculous. hehee.
