Is it a direct swap? I know its the same (bored out) block, but it should mount up to the A541E and all I can think of that I would need is the motor and the ECU....
I read a thread that was saying it would be a ton of work, but how so?

yeah, im talking about a 3MZFE into where a 1MZFE (Non-VVTI) is sitting right now.
Off the top of my head, I can think of ECU, and since I'd be ordering a long block assembly, everything is already there.
Only problems I can think of is the throttle linkage, drive by wire, and possibly fuel pump. I will do this project if I can identify 90% of the problems off the bat.

They have one in denver, $1,100 with 54,XXX miles on it. This would also mean I would have ported and polished upper and lower intakes, throttle body, and heads for sale soon too, along with all my other stuff more specific to the 1MZ, so after selling all my 1MZ parts, it will only cost somewhere in the vicinity of $500 all said and done.

(dog = abuse) maby it wasnt you. i remember a member in a similar situation rescently saying he likes to abuse his car. you may have just been one of a very unlucky few. ive NEVER herd of this problem on any 1mz except for FI motors with high boost. or guys who abuse the motor and dont take care of it.
I run it hard, I definitely think harder than the average person for sure, which is definitely a contributor, but im just being sour because I always hear about people boosting on stock internals and I don't even have any boost lol. But yeah, I've built multiple motors before (worked for a performance shop) and always take great care of them because I have seen how absolutely important it is. Especially when you run them hard. As far as abuse goes, considering what this motor was meant for, I abuse it - not going to lie - but I think a lot of us do, and still get good results. this motor still lasted longer than a ford lol.
I think I just need to start from scratch with this bad boy. Get a good port and polish, do everything perfectly, leave the internals stock (a whole new rebuilt bottom end that I found for 600 bucks), and get an auto tranny cooler, and some good supporting mods. I really enjoy taking my car to the track and on mountain runs, and definitely want to be able to keep doing that. If I could find the 5spd e153 swap, that would probably best for me and my driving style, and put less stress on the motor (due to clutch).

I go to college at CU, just brought the car out here finally, and so glad I did, Newport Beach Police = D***s.
I actually got pulled over because he heard me coming up san juaqin from pavillions, pulled me over, noticed all kinds of stuff, but ended up letting me off with an exhaust ticket. Whats awesome is even though they are so black, they show lots of light through. I asked the Cop bout it, and he said he didn't care as long as the light shows up well. I was very surprised.

There is ALWAYS a cop right on San Joaquin Hills right before Marguerite. I love how he just chills right on the road, in plain sight.
Also I hear people now even in bmws n benzs are getting pulled over if they don't have front plates.
