A/C light blinking

Hi,
I just had the timing belt changed (1997 Camry, I-4), and now the A/C light is blinking on occasion. (When I shut the car off, and restarted it, the light was on solid, as it normally is, then sometime on the ride home, it started blinking again.) I have not driven the car except home from the shop.

The A/C seems to be working fine. What causes the light to blink?

The shop is happy to look at it, but I'd like to be able to point them to the problem, or fix it myself, if it is something as simple as a loose belt.

I'm don't have a problem working on the car.

The belt seems tight. All wiring appears to be connected. There are two ground wires that they disconnected, on the top of the engine, both are connected.

I will disconnect the battery to reset everything to see if that helps.

Thanks,
--M

The blinking light is an indication there is something wrong with the AC system. This could be the AC amplifier or the the compressor RPM is not right (the compressor has an RPM sensor).

Might be a loose belt as the shop must have removed this to work on the car.

The AC system should be off if the light is blinking.

Double check the connector going to the compressor, make sure that it is clean and tight.
