3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So exactly how important is it to do a Jim's Fuel Mod. How much will it help (forget about HP gains, im talking with actual fuel delivery and tuning, etc)? I am doing an entire brand new fuel system with all good components, and this is one of those last things i need to decide on doing.

well for FI it has proven very helpful. NA im not 100% that youd need it but it could only help balance the fuel delivery between the 2 banks. you can find much more info on it on solaraguy.com.
if you're going to spend money on "all new fuel components" then why are you even considering using jim's fuel mod at all? why not just go return style while you're at it?

i know i know...nobody knows too much bout this...
Here's a replay.
Honestly why are you going through all this work on a camry? FE engine, FWD, like why? Correclt me if i am wrong but you already mess up the cars engine, why are you wanting to do that again.
I'm not trying to bash you but honestly this is like just as smart as all those people doing performance mods on their hondas.

We already had this discution in the past in here.
What's rice?, what's logical, what's just plain stupid...
In short we got to the conclusion that modding are Camrys are a way to stand out(don't expect that from a modded Honda). Also, people here are very knowledgeable and are always finding a way to get their favorite car to there ideal specification in a sometimes OEM fashion, by adding those little details sometimes not found in plain jane toyotas.
As for the whole FWD issue...who said torque steer was a bad thing?Seriously, I find that it's an underrated setup.
Like it was said in the past, "Maybe we want to get our groceries or pickup the kids with 300hp under the hood!"

well first, this is not as smart as the honda guys. they get alot out of their motors for relitivly little money...even NA...we dont.
please remember that if your posting info thats not prudent to the OP's question you're ruining a thread and just wasting everyones time. if you want to discuss "why mod camrys", just start a new thread.
Albuynp Ryeno - I am not asking for your opinion as to why I am modding my camry in this thread. Please, if you want to bash 90% on toyota nation who enjoy modifying their camrys, do it in another thread. I am trying to get some technical information.
Eye8Pussies - What is the difference between the OEM setup and the return style? Benefits? Cons?
94CoupeV6 - Yes, I am planning to do boost in the next year or two. (8-10PSI)
Hajoca - I have not gotten that CEL yet. I have a bad bearing in the bottom end, and am rebuilding my motor, but the main reason im interested in this is because 1: I will be boosting in the future and 2: Even before the boost, I am going to have a ported and polished intake, lower and upper intake plenum, and throttle body, which I am not sure how my motor will react to (will also have a SAFCII on there).
Creeps228 - I have already talked to ASG14. He has a substitute for the Jim's Fuel mod.
