muffler help

ive been getting alot of tickets for my exhaust being too loud and i was woundering if there is an alternative to the oem muffler but better flow but just as quiet.

well nothing will be as quiet as the OEM muffler. depending on your setup, ull just want to add resonators.

Hmmm....funny you bring this up. How much do you want to spend?

Varex should be one for you to consider. I think it's still $400-$500 AUD. It's basically a butterfly controlled muffler, but better than the usual ones. Vids explains all.

However, if you want performance, changing the muffler ONLY won't do much except give noise. maybe like a 0.x - 1 HP on the dyno, but you won't notice it. You're better off changing the system cat back or something. Not really worth the money IMO; it's not a sports car.

If its a 4 cylinder dont even bother with exhaust work since you wont gain anything off of it, not even the best catback in the world will add any decent power to a 4 cylinder.

If you have a v6, you need one muffler under the car, and one at the tailpipe. A resonator somewhere under the car will also make it sound great, you really aren't going to be loosing any races becvause of your muffler setup, it is a Camry after all
