94 Camry V6 ImFze backfire in Exhaust

Hi Guys,

I have a 94 Camry V6 with 105K miles on it. It basically runs and drives OK except when the engine is allowed to idle, then it starts to misfire intermittently except the idle stays at 800 ( no movement) there is no CEL or other engine indications, and as soon as you hit the accelerator it clears up right away. It feels like its actually backfiring or after firing in the exhaust, perhaps from some mixture issues or perhaps a dribbling injector or.............any ideas? The plugs and timing belt are 30K old; the wires and coils original, and I cleaned the throttle body back in the summer and this is a recent issue.

Thanks for any input.

Update I was actually looking at the tacho when the latest misfire occurred and there is in fact a 50 rpm drop.

Too much fuel can cause exhaust backfire.

Ignition miss resulting RPM drop?
