I got a CEL today on the way to work. I checked it when I got home a bit ago and it's #28 (not listed in the haynes manual OR Chilton's). I DID find it on this site:
Where is this O2 sensor located on my 93 V6? Should I go ahead and replace all the O2 sensors? Ive been getting about 18.5 MPG lately with this car, though it does need some new spark plugs.

I used a Bosch O2 sensor on my Cam quite a while ago. Failed quickly; CEL came back on with the same code. Got a Toyota OEM sensor and all was well.
Did a bit of Googling on OBD1 code 28 and ran across this thread on a Lexus forum which indicates code 28 is the firewall-side O2 sensor. Scroll down to post #6.
As for replacing all of them, I've read that O2 sensors can be marginally bad and not throw a CEL. Dunno if that's BS or not.

Well, I put my car up on ramps today to find out once and for all how many O2 sensors I have. I only have 2, so im going to go ahead and replace both and replace the one in the wife's I4 (odly enough they use the same front O2 sensor (per sparkplugs.com)).
Im also going to go ahead and replace all 6 sparkplugs with E3 plugs. Hopefully my mpg will improve and the CEL with go out.
