Just made a pretty good cheap intake. :-D

All in all, cost me about $70. I just bought a different bend for the filter, so it will point right to the tube, and I still need to buy the adapter for the tube to filter.

Unless you somehow put an enclosure around that air filter and connect it to that tubbing. The air will get sucked up from the engine bay. Essentially that tubing useless.

^ Um, wha? The point of funel and the tubing is to RAM more air into the filter at higher speeds.

LMAO Bwahahahahah.....

Ok I needed that.

If you put the filter on the end of that ribbed hose and actually connected it to the tubing you have extended from your supercharger... you still wouldn't have a ram air effect. You'd have a Cold Air Intake. It would be better but not what you are calling it.

If you wanted it to be a true RAM air effect then you'd have to cut that bumper grill out of the way, mount the filter pointing directly at the opening you would have just made in the bumper, and have smooth tubing going all the way to the supercharger. Which by essence of the fact that you have a supercharger is not really going to make that much of a difference. Getting a cooler air charge would be a better idea though than sucking air from within the engine bay. Don't think that because you put a little ribbed hose starting from behind a BLOCKED area of the bumper and route it to the GENERAL vicinity of the air filter that all of a sudden you made a RAM AIR intake. The air filter will suck air equally from all 360 degrees around it. That includes the HOT air being generated by the engine, supercharger, transmission, battery (yes they get hot too), and the best one of all for a true HOT RAM AIR effect is the RADIATOR WITH FANS ON IT TO BLOW HOT AIR TOWARDS your tiny little hose. Yeah, now logically lets think about that little bit of air coming from your ribbed hose and if it has a chance to overpower all of that hot air. It's not going to happen nor is the air filter selectively going to only suck air from that hose.

For the sake of trying to help out, you'd be better off replacing your filter with something like this from PRM Racing http://www.prmracing.com/cold-air-in...stom-shop.html

That way the filter would be self contained and sheilded from the hot air in your engine bay and you could then attach the tubing to the end of it and make at least a true cold air system. If you wanted to make it more effectual then that, then try looking up some automotive air ducting like this: http://www.stockcarproducts.com/brkduct.htm
Attach that to the back of the bumper behind the grill and then attach your flexible tubing to that with the PRM filter connected to that with your metal tubing leading to the supercharger. That would be as close as you could get to a ram air/cold air filter and minimally not having to change much.

Well, I took off my ram air and basically did the same thing. But now I am moving to some exhaust or intercooler piping left overs:P

If you don't have a supercharger there is really no point unless you just want to tackle the project.

Adam have you looked into a colder thermostat yet? With a roots blower it's one of the best things you can do! First mod on most of the Grand Prix guys list.

1) ADAM finally, your making noise
2) Engines dont suck in air, its due to a lower pressure inside the cylinder that causes the outside air to be forced into the cylinder, its called pressure differential...Look it up

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was talking to anyone with an engineering degree. How embarrassing. Shall I word all my posts henceforth in overcomplicated engineering jargon? I should state however, that I'm entirely comfortable the size of my ego and feel no need to over inflate it with jargon that would insinuate otherwise as you have.

Let me be so kind as to ask you kindly if I may please use normal words so as to not look like an ass. I really don't feel the need at this time.

Thank you kindly for your consideration.

the intake looks good but that final bend is too sharp you need less of an angle to make it work more effectively(sp?)

oh btw no bashing please...
there is no "plug and play" for camrys just "plug shit it doesn't fit cut shave rewire weld hit it with a hammer...buy a new one have more patience then play"
