Alright Guys,
So I just got a Garmin 255w GPS and I hate having the cord visible. Does anyone know if you can just cut the male end of an A/C cord for, say, the GPS, and just attach it directly into a power supply directly? Or does it need to use the given connector or can these units be bypassed allowing me to connect devices to a power supply directly? I know the cigerette lighter is source but how would I go about doing this???

So you want to remove the fuse too?

Just buy a cig charger for the GPS. The garmin one comes with a Cig charger

If you really want to cut, you have to re-regulate the power to match the original specs.
