Camry Update
Been away for a bit. Had some major computer issues [all my home systems are now DOA for the time being] so had to break down and get a cheap laptop. So far so good.
Got my major leak issue taking care of [oil filter assembly 0-ring] got that done but seems I had another leak. My oil guage sending unit how it hooks up broke off while getting my oil change so lucky it happened there and got that fixed, and a week later found that I was leaking a lot of oil from the distributer o-ring. Had that replaced on friday as well, so two major oil leaks now fixed. Hoping that's about it but we'll see. If all goes well, I'll have timing belt replaced in the spring along with spark plugs, valve covers etc. as no clue when they were last done although car is running pretty good for the most part.
On my heating issue. Haven't had time to do much with it but do have lots of heat. It seems that the control knob assembly is where the problem actually is. Just haven't felt like ripping apart my dash to do it with the weather being cold and all, and where I am having a couple feet of snow, unlike here in TO. Might just have to wait until spring for that as well.
Had a major water in my trunk issue. Not sure exactly what the cause is. Just to be safe, I took off the spoiler, and put it back on with sealing it well to make sure no water would get in. I suspect it was the back center panel and just couldn't tell, so I took it off and put the new rubber gasket I got for it a few months back. At my mechanics I emptied the trunk, and got all the water/ice out from where the spare tire is. Was about an inch deep. Monitoring it and so far so good, but hasn't been a lot of rain to see what's happening. Raining pretty good now so going to monitor it and see what happens. Hopefully I've caugt it. Seems like the right side rear quarter panel has a leak somewhere coming in that it was collecting, possibly as well from the bolts that holds the rear bumper corner in place. Not sure. For now drilled a small drainage hole so it won't collect the water and drain and monitoring it. So far so good. Did get the front bumper replaced before the snow flew and it got cold out and made a huge difference in how the car looks, although I've now totally broken off my bug deflector. Haven't been able to find one cheap as of yet to replace it.
Other than that, still my battery to do when I get the chance as I don't think mine has enough power that I need. Hell, would love to do dual batter in it, but not sure if that's plausible or not. We'll see. Lots of ideas to come up with and think about before spring.
Hope everyone is well and remember:
