3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have a '94 Camry LE. I'm looking to replace/modify the turn signal lens from the ugly orange to a clear color. I've seen a few pictures where people have done this, so I hope someone here can help me out.
I already looked around online and I can only find replacement parts (it is a rather niche market). If anyone can tell me where I can find some or how I can modify them myself it would be very helpful!
The're maybe plain or common but I must say I find the clear lens uglier...
Just my 2 cents
Haha, it is a matter of preference, but I think it just logically makes no sense at all on my car (beige). I mean, the color is nowhere else on the car and it clashes with the body color.
Oh, and just to clarify, my turn signal assembly goes a little around the sides of the front bumper, it's not entirely in front of it.
I dunno actually. I have a beige one too and I actually like the bit of contrast the orange lights give the car, I find the look with clear lights so strange, it's as though someone threw some bleach onto the car and washed it off.

You can legally change the front turn signal to white, but the rear ones must be either amber or red, per section 14-96r of the Connecticut Motor Vehicle code:
Red/Clear lights on the rear are legal. But the blinkers (clear part) must had a red or amber (orange) bulb, so that it blinks that color. The rear side has to have a red light at night, either on the side of bumper, quarter panel, or side of tail light. The rear of the car MUST have a red reflector of some sort. Which is why the cars with OEM clear lights, have red reflectors in the bumper.
There MUST be orange on the front/side of the car. So with clear blinkers, you must have the parking lights (side of headlight Gen 3.5, or Side of headlight Gen 3.0 and/or outter bumper light Gen 3.0) have an orange reflector.

Thanks for the clarification. But just to make sure, there is no way I could just have all white lenses and amber bulbs be legal without having something be orange when the lights are off?
Seems like a stupid rule to require an orange color in the front/side of the car.
If it's not possible to avoid this, where would I get some orange reflectors or make the parking lights orange without it looking as retarded as the turn signal assembly?
Got my Depos from Ebay. Just search Camry clear lights. Works for me. They also seem to have some orange reflectors in them because even with clear bulbs in them they still look a little orange/yellow. Damn it, I put clear lenses on because I HATE the orange , but I just can't escape it!
One thing gen 3 guys can do is use the clear part of a turn signal set for the parking lights, and keep the orange signal/reflectors like european cars have..
I have euro signals on my white Supra and I think they look great..
