Not a good idea IMO. You'll first need to buy some heavy duty, body shop supply, wax and silicone remover, and get ALL traces of wax off the clearcoat that's on there. Then, you'll need to sand out the clearcoat so the 'new' will adhere properly. If you sand first without treating the surface, you'll be rubbing the contamination into the clearcoat and the fresh clearcoat won't bond. All's said and done, you'd be better off sanding/buffing out the existing clearcoat with any one of the many paint treatment systems available from auto body supply shops in your area. Then, go with wax and buffing again.
